2024 Outlook
The Giants have placed veteran Tony Jefferson II on inured reserve.
Fantasy Impact
Jefferson is a key defensive back for the Giants, and he will now have to miss at least four games on injured reserve. The exact timeline for his return isn't yet clear, but his injury isn't expected to be season-ending. The Giants' defense has been very good so far this season, but this loss could cause a hiccup for their secondary.
According to the Ravens' official Twitter account, Tony Jefferson II has re-signed with the Ravens.
Fantasy Impact
On Thursday, news dropped that the Ravens agreed to terms with their veteran safety Tony Jefferson. Jefferson was signed to Baltimore's practice squad on Dec. 13 and was quickly elevated to the 53-man roster with the Ravens' secondary decimated by injuries early this season. He performed admirably in his four games for the team logging 18 total tackles.
Former Ravens safety Tony Jefferson posted a video of himself on social media running on a treadmill and stated, “feels good to be back on my feet!” He’s just five months removed from surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee.
Fantasy Impact
Jefferson came to Baltimore as a highly-coveted free agent after spending four seasons in Arizona. He was cut by the Ravens in February this year after the team decided to give Chuck Clark a contract extension, rolling with him in the secondary for the foreseeable future over Jefferson. With 450 tackles in 98 career games played, the veteran safety out of Oklahoma is hopeful a team will give him a chance, but admits it’s tough sledding to get anyone to feel comfortable given his inability to get medical clearance of any kind at this time. On the plus side, it’s being reported that a handful of teams are interested in Jefferson’s services. He continues to rehab and work out at his home in Southern California during the coronavirus pandemic.
Ravens safety Tony Jefferson (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Falcons.
Fantasy Impact
Jefferson injured his ankle in last Sunday’s win over the Raiders and was unable to practice all week. Chuck Clark is expected to start at strong safety in his absence.
Ravens safety Tony Jefferson (thigh) returned to practice Thursday as a limited participant.
Fantasy Impact
Jefferson sat out Wednesday’s practice entirely so even while limited this is a step forward. Friday’s practice report should give us a clearer indication of his status for Sunday. His backup Anthony Levine (thigh) did not practice Thursday.
