CB Trent McDuffie agrees to four-year contract extension with the Rams
Fantasy Impact
After being traded from Kansas City, McDuffie will sign a four-year, $124 million contract extension with Los Angeles. He becomes the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history and will look to maintain his All-Pro level of play.
The Kansas City Chiefs are trading cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams for the No. 29 pick, a fifth- and sixth-rounder in the 2026 NFL Draft, and a third-round pick in 2027.
Fantasy Impact
The Rams had two first-round picks because of a deal last season with the Atlanta Falcons, making the picks expendable following an NFC Championship run. McDuffie perfectly fills a need on L.A.'s defense as they push for a Super Bowl. The Chiefs have made a habit of moving players as they approach their second contracts, but they acquire four picks in this move.
The Chiefs will speak with Trent McDuffie's reps this week about new deal.
Fantasy Impact
McDuffie had his fifth-year option picked up last spring by Kansas City. “We had a lot of dialogue with Trent last spring, last summer,” Chiefs GM Brett Veach said. “He’s first out of the gate, I think, tomorrow. So, looking forward to getting with him. And, obviously, Trent’s a great player and we’ll see what we can do there.
The Chiefs placed Trent McDuffie on injured reserve.
Fantasy Impact
McDuffie and Jaylen Watson will both end the season on IR. The Chiefs secondary will remain short-handed for the final two weeks of the season.
Trent McDuffie is not expected to practice on Tuesday.
Fantasy Impact
McDuffie continues to work his way back from a knee injury. He is trending towards missing another game in Week 17 on Thursday against the Broncos.
