Trevor Siemian out for the season

Trevor Siemian has been ruled out for the season due to his ankle injury suffered Week 2 against the Browns.

Fantasy Impact

Siemian suffered the ugly injury Monday night against Cleveland on a hit from Myles Garrett in which his ankle was bent back in an awkward fashion. He was immediately ruled out, so it's no surprise to see he's sidelined for an extended period. With Sam Darnold continuing to deal with mono, Luke Falk is likely to be the Jets' starting quarterback for the next few weeks. You were already downgrading their wide receivers in Darnold's absence, but the team should continue to lean heavily on running back Le'Veon Bell as was on display Monday night.

Trevor Siemian exits with serious injury

Trevor Siemian exited the Jets’ Week 2 matchup in the second quarter with an apparent ankle injury.

Fantasy Impact

It was an ugly injury, in which Siemian’s ankle bent behind him on a hit from Myles Garrett. He’s in the locker room with Luke Falk in the game as the starter.

Trevor Siemian to start Week 2

Trevor Siemian will start Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns with Sam Darnold (illness) ruled out, Adam Schefter reports.

Fantasy Impact

Now in his fourth year, Siemian has had modest success in 26 appearances, racking up 5,686 yards, 30 TDs and 24 INTs. He’s also gone 13-11 in 24 starts. This is obviously a downgrade for the entire Jets’ offense, and expectations should be tempered for Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson. Le’Veon Bell (shoulder) is questionable for Week 2, and the Cleveland Browns D/ST — coming off a terrible loss — makes a fine play against the skeleton crew of New York.

Trevor Siemian quiet in third preseason game

Trevor Siemian completed 5-of-7 pass attempts for 34 yards and rushed once for -1 yard in the Jets' preseason loss to the Saints.

Fantasy Impact

Siemian, despite a lackluster preseason, should be the backup to Sam Darnold for 2019. He'll only have value in 2QB or Superflex leagues, and only if Darnold misses any time.

Trevor Siemian quiet in win over Falcons

Trevor Siemian completed 2-of-4 pass attempts for 10 yards and rushed once for -1 yard in the Jets' preseason win over the Falcons.

Fantasy Impact

Siemian is technically the #2 QB according to the Jets' depth chart. However, if Sam Darnold misses time, no one else on the roster is really viable for fantasy purposes. Siemian should not be drafted, even in 2QB leagues.
