Omarion Hampton Week 1 Outlook - Cardinals at Chargers

By Ellis Johnson (FantasyPros), Mon, Sep 7th 2026, 7:26pm EDT

For what seems to be the fifth year in a row, we are talking about the Chargers as a "dark horse" Super Bowl pick. Even with plenty to get excited about, it is hard not to feel like we've already seen how this plays out. Typically, their downfall starts with some key injuries. You can check that box with Center Tyler Biadasz tearing his ACL in training camp. Thankfully, they have Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater returning after missing most of last season. Add in Mike McDaniel coming in as the Offensive Coordinator, and there is still plenty of hope for 2026 to be the year for the Chargers. They also have Omarion Hampton back from injury last season and primed for a breakout season. As long as their offensive line holds up, Hampton will be able to take advantage of a McDaniels scheme that has been very lucrative for fantasy points. Plus, starting the season against the Cardinals is a perfect opportunity for this team to show that they are more than just offseason hype this year.
