View More NotesThe Chargers had arguably the most disappointing start to their season compared to offseason expectations. It's hard to imagine a loss at home to the Cardinals won't be the lowest part of the Chargers' entire season. Then again, stranger things have happened. In a matchup where this offense should have dominated, Hampton finished with 43 yards on 12 carries. He also was not targeted in the receiving game, leaving fantasy managers potentially concerned about his weekly floor. This week, they face the Raiders, who have yet to be challenged on defense. We have to believe that this Chargers team will turn things around and hopefully come through in another positive matchup. That said, I am concerned about this offense as they have a stretch of tough matchups after this week. My name is Ellis, and I will be writing the FantasyPros player outlooks this season; I don't expect I'll have Hampton in the top 12 for a few weeks after this.

Fantasy Impact
A first-round pick in 2025, Hampton carried quite a bit of hype coming into his second NFL season, as did the Chargers' offense as a whole. At least some of that hype immediately died down after a disappointing season debut against a suspect Arizona defense, but it is only one game under new OC Mike McDaniel. Hampton found the end zone on an eight-yard run in the opening quarter, and this Chargers' attack will find its footing at some point. The Raiders are up next.
