Bailey Zappe
QB - NE
2022 Outlook
A surprise fourth-round pick of the New England Patriots, Zappe doesn't have a big arm, but he posted some gaudy college numbers and could wind up in the no-man's-land between low-end NFL starter and high-end backup.
Positives - Starting Experience, can make every throw / throws guys open, on field leader
Negatives - Scheme heavy production, not very mobile, accuracy plummets when moved off his spot
Bailey Zappe only had one season to put his name on an NFL map after transferring from Houston Baptist to Western Kentucky. The senior QB did just that, breaking the FBS single-season passing (5,940 yards) and touchdown records (62).
The statistical accolades alone will get Zappe on a NFL squad, but his long-term outlook is still that of a quality backup. He also doesn't offer much with his legs with just 14 rushing yards per game in college.
