RB - LAR
It didn't happen for Henderson last season but he is still talented, especially in the passing game and his creative head coach, Sean McVay has gone on record to say that this will be a four-man committee in the backfield so Henderson should have some value.
Some Henderson truthers are dead-set on him being "the guy" in this offense, but the Rams selecting Cam Akers with their first pick in the draft is extremely worrisome. They used a second-round pick on Akers, while Henderson himself was taken with a third-round pick. I'm not willing to say that Henderson is completely out of contention, but his value took a blow in the draft. This is likely to be a timeshare backfield, making him a risky RB3 in redraft leagues.
Henderson was drafted in the 3rd round last year by the LA Rams, but he's currently on a free-fall drop in ADP due to the arrival of Cam Akers. Akers is an athletic RB prospect out of Florida State, but he lacks refinement in the key areas of the position. Akers is at his best in space, which leads me to think that the Rams may be more keen on using Akers as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. That would lead to Henderson being the predominant ball-carrier in between the tackles. Henderson is still going to be involved in this offense, so he's a value at his current ADP. However, he does not have an incredibly high ceiling with Akers' presence and a poor offensive line in front of him. He's a fine bench RB for your fantasy roster that you can plug in on bye weeks.
They invested heavily in Henderson by trading up to 70 last year to get him. Hendo is arguably the most efficient college RB ever, was among the league's best in both yards created per carry & juke rate, Malcolm Brown has played 54 regular season G's & has less than 1000 yds. @DFFMemphis
Please don't fall for Darrell Henderson this time. I saw him go in the second round of redraft leagues at times last year which was insane even then. The guy isn't very good, he doesn't catch passes and this offence is nothing compared to what it used to be. At best he's a committee back with no passing down upside and little handcuff value. Hard pass.
Opportunity to at least be a time share RB shot down with drafting of Akers
