RB - KC
Last season's totally unwarranted hype surrounding 6th round rookie Darwin Thompson had predictable results. The little running back is at best a deep pass catching option with the drafting of elite prospect Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
Remember when Thompson had an incredible preseason and everyone wanted to draft him as the potential starter in this backfield? One year and 46 touches later, no one is drafting the second-year running back. He'd need multiple injuries to find his way into fantasy relevance, as both Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Damien Williams are well ahead of him on the depth chart.
Thompson has talent and plays in an outstanding system for running backs, but there's almost no chance he'll have fantasy value this year. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will lead the way in the Kansas City backfield, and DeAndre Washington and Darrel Williams will also compete for touches. Thompson would have potential if he ever saw enough of an opportunity, but there's little chance of that happening in 2020.
Thompson was incredibly hyped up last year, but he was never given the opportunity. Now that Clyde Edwards-Helaire is in town, it's unlikely that we ever see Thompson involved in this offense.
