Last year, David Njoku finished as the TE4 in fantasy points per game, easily the best per-game production of his career. He did miss seven games last year, though, with hamstring and ankle issues. Injuries have sadly been a part of Njoku's career, and at this point, I don't think they are going away, so they have to be factored into his 2025 equation. Last season, among 47 qualifying tight ends, Njoku commanded a ton of volume, ranking fifth in target share (21%), seventh in receiving yards per game (45.9), and sixth in first-read share (21.7%, per Fantasy Points Data), but he wasn't efficient with his volume ranking 32nd in first downs per route run and yards per route run. Injuries, efficiency concerns, quarterback worries, and target competition are all factors that impact his 2025 outlook. Njoku will likely finish as a low-end TE1 this season, but I'm not targeting him aggressively.

Following the best season if his career in 2023, David Njoku missed six games in 2024 with ankle hamstring and knee injuries, and his efficiency plummeted. Njoku finished with 64-505-5 in 11 games last season. He averaged a career-low 7.9 yards per catch and only 5.2 yards per target. But with the right quarterback, Njoku can be a fantasy force. In games he played with QB Jameis Winston last year, Njoku averaged 10.3 targets a game and scored five TDs over a seven-game stretch. He was TE4 in PPR fantasy points per game (16.4) over that period. The Browns' QB situation looks messy for 2025, but one of the candidates to make starts at quarterback is Joe Flacco, who really clicked with Njoku when they played together in Cleveland in 2023. When Flacco made five late-season starts for the Browns that year, Njoku had 30-390-4 and was TE2 in PPR fantasy points per game (18.2) over that span. Njoku could be a value in 2025 fantasy drafts entering his age-29 season, but his fortunes are tied to the Cleveland quarterbacks, which isn't exactly reassuring.

Another year, another tale of two seasons for the Browns tight end. Njoku finished 5th in fantasy points per game (10.6) and TE11 overall in 11 games played. The Browns TE missed three games to start the year and was placed on season-ending IR after Week 16.
The 29-year-old TE was at his best with Jameis Winston under center, averaging north of 12 points per game (21.1). Equivalent to Brock Bowers.
But for the second straight offseason, Njoku might have another new QB that wasn't part of his hot streak the year before. At worst, Njoku's ability to perform with different QBs the past two seasons is encouraging that he won't completely fall off in 2025 regardless of who is throwing him passes.
I'd also expect Njoku to remain a staple in the offense under new OC Tommy Rees who served as the pass game specialist & tight ends coach for the Browns last season. Njoku finished third in expected points and targets per game (8.5).
