Jahan Dotson should immediately start in two wide receiver sets opposite Terry McLaurin. Dotson's 90th percentile college dominator and 95th percentile target share while at Penn State illuminate the caliber of player he is. The Commanders' passing rate could cap Dotson's ceiling this year if the coaching staff comes to the same realization that the Colts did. That Carson Wentz is nothing more than a glorified game manager at this point in his career. As erratic as Wentz is, Dotson should enjoy an upgrade over the collegiate quarterback play he suffered through. The lone bright spot for Wentz is if Dotson can use his speed to get loose deep, Wentz should be able to hit him in stride. Wentz was fourth in deep-ball accuracy last season.

Curtis Samuel has struggled to stay healthy and 2021 third-rounder Dyami Brown failed to fire as a rookie creating an opportunity in the Washington new-look offense alongside No. 1 WR Terry McLaurin.

Jahan Dotson's biggest strengths to me are his reliability and the floor that he can offer the Commanders, and that is going to translate into target volume.

That's what he did during his final season at Penn State, posting an absurd 43% dominator rating while racking up the 8th-most receptions in his draft class.

Dotson is an impressive-looking rookie out of Penn St. He plays bigger than his size and makes leaping catches seem easy. He reminds me of Odell Beckham. At WR 66 he seems cheap in what figures to be an improved Washington offense in 2022.

7/27: Getting good slot usage already. He's a stud.

6/22: Reportedly "Electric" in offseason practices as McLaurin sits. Might be asked to anchor the entire pass-catching corps if McLaurin holdout continues!

More of a deep sleeper right now, offense won't be amazing but he's got tons of talent. A last round pick kind of guy.

16th overall pick, 5'11", 185?, 22yr, Penn State. Opted out of Senior Bowl, might be projected as a first round pick. Dotson certainly didn't blow teams away at the combine, measuring at 178 pounds and recording a slower three-cone time than any edge in attendance.
