It seems that Washington is going to utilize Antonio Gibson in the passing game much more often in 2021, which will come at the expense of McKissic. It's not just Gibson, either. The Football Team also signed Curtis Samuel in free agency, a player that's used in a hybrid role who gets plenty of intermittent targets, as well as a handful of carries per game. While McKissic was a hidden gem in PPR formats last year, it appears his role is shrinking in this offense. As someone who relies on volume to produce, McKissic is more of a passing-down handcuff to Gibson.

Did you know that McKissic led all RBs in targets last season? He finished with more than Kamara, Zeke, Ekeler, etc. and no one saw it coming. While this was in large part due to Alex Smith and his propensity for checking it down, McKissic was a viable fantasy option week in and week out in Full PPR formats. However, now that Fitzpatrick is in town, the opportunities for McKissic most likely take a nose dive. Fitz loves to push the ball downfield and there's also the strong possibility that Gibson takes another big step forward as a receiver and cuts into his workload. McKissic now falls into the low-end RB3 conversation that most likely won't see enough volume to sustain success week after week.

in 2020, J.D. McKissic had 80 receptions and nearly 1,000 AP yards. The trouble is twofold in 2021. First, Ryan Fitzpatrick is far less of a check down QB, and that could limit his targets. This is especially true with Washington improving the WR corps this off-season. Secondly, Antonio Gibson really caught fire towards the end of the season. That all being said, McKissic remains one of the better "depth" running backs you can roster in fantasy and has PPR play appeal in certain matchups in season. He's worthy
of a late target.

Might take a hit w/ Curtis Samuel filling his role w/ more juice
