QB - CHI
Some have already declared Nick Foles as the starter, but I'm not so sure of that. It seems the Bears wanted competition at the quarterback position, and Ryan Pace's job is likely tied to what happens. Think about this: What has Nick Foles looked like outside of Philadelphia? A below-average quarterback who lost his job to Case Keenum and Gardner Minshew. If you're looking for a QB3 in a 2QB league, Trubisky could be a steal.
While I do expect Trubisky to start the season, I don't think he'll last very long. His team traded for a former Super Bowl-winning QB and will want to see what they have in him. As I said regarding Foles, I'd avoid both Bears QB's this season.
More confidence he will be the Week 1 starter and he beats down on bad defenses.
Trubisky regressed significantly last year, rarely pushing the ball down the field and looking tentative all season long. He threw just 17 touchdown passes, had just a 6.1 YPA average, and ran for only 193 yards. The Bears brought in Nick Foles this offseason, and it looks like it will be a true quarterback competition. Even if Trubisky begins the year as the starter, he almost certainly won't have much fantasy value, and should be an afterthought on draft day.
It's bizarre that Mitchell Trubisky either stopped running, or had that option stripped away, and still has the third-lowest checkdown rate over the last two seasons. Especially with receiving talent Tarik Cohen in the backfield. @Josh_ADHD
OK, I'm out. It's time to move on and send Trubisky back to the land of NFL backup QBs.
