QB - IND
Going to a new team is always tough on a quarterback, but it surely helps that Rivers has played in Frank Reich's offensive system before. Back in 2014-2015, Rivers threw for 9,078 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions over those two seasons. The offensive line in Indianapolis is the best Rivers has ever played behind, and his receiver corps of T.Y. Hilton, Parris Campbell, and Michael Pittman isn't too shabby, either. He may be towards the end of his career, but he's going to have plenty of fantasy-worthy performances for streamers.
Seeing Rivers in a different uniform will be strange but I don't see his fantasy production to change all that much. He has a solid WR1 in T.Y. Hilton and a trusty TE in Jack Doyle. He'll have his big games but will also give you the occasional turnover-fest. I like more reliability at QB, he doesn't need to be drafted in 1 QB leagues.
It's highly unlikely that we see Rivers enter into the streaming QB conversation at all this season. With Rivers' high interception totals from last season, plus his inability to pick up yards on the ground, he's unlikely to ever finish within the top-12 QBs in a given week.
Philip Rivers is a really tough one to rank in 2020. While I like the idea of him playing behind an elite O-line, I don't think this offence will have enough passing volume to make him a viable weekly fantasy option. He's a nice, safe streamer/bye week cover/superflex option but in Indy, I don't see him managing much else.
IND just came off a season with the 3rd fewest passing yards in the league, with 3108. And not for lack of trying. Phil has thrown for 4000 3 times with fewer ATT than what Indy had last year
