Romeo Doubs
WR - GB
2022 Outlook
Romeo Doubs checks some prospect boxes I value. After four seasons at Nevada, he leaves with a 73rd percentile collegiate target share and 80th percentile breakout age. He is fresh off back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons. Doubs was 71st in yards per route run last year, which isn't eye-popping, but he was also 30th in PFF receiving grade (minimum 50 targets). Building an early rapport with Aaron Rodgers could go a long way toward surpassing his fourth-round draft capital and emerging as a consistent NFL weapon.
The Nevada Wolfpack product checks off the exact three requisite boxes I need in a Day 3 sleeper wide receiver: high-end college production, a solid breakout age and a vertical element to their game.
Doubs broke out at age 19, so his top-tier production in the two years that followed should not have shocked anybody. He wrapped a bow on his college career with a top-10 dominator rating in the 2022 Draft Class, headlined by a 36% score in 2020.
As a consistent downfield threat - 55 targets of 20-plus air yards the last two seasons - Doubs has an archetype that fits well with Rodgers. And so far this summer... that fit has been on full display.
Romeo, Romeo, where fore Art Thou Romeo? Green Bay?? Really?? Somehow I don't think that's the answer Juliet was expecting haha! In all seriousness, Doubs is having a great camp. I'll be honest, it's a crapshoot trying to read the best way to play the Packers WR room for your fantasy draft. That said, the departures of Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes Scantling left a lot of targets and TDs there for the taking. Doubs is making a bunch of plays in camp. He's worth a shot.
PS- Parting from my bad jokes is such sweet sorrow haha!
It took Romeo Doubs all of 2 training camp days to realize he can hang with the ones in the NFL. We'll see if he can continue in pads and when games start, but wow what a start." @AndyHermanNFL
7/31: Reportedly a star of camp & earning Rodgers' trust quickly. Definitely a solid late WR target now
Positives - Good game speed, Good Hands, Solid Catch Radius, Great Punt Returner
Negatives - Route Tree needs improvement, Doesn't play physical, Struggles against physical corners
