Adam Trautman

Overall, an incredibly smooth and fluid route runner. Carries his momentum and weight extremely well. Moves like a WR off the LOS. Was used all over the formation at Dayton and was THE offense. Great snap in his hips in and out of breaks. Great after the catch and good top-end speed. Able to go up and get it in a crowd and use his size to box out defenders. Diverse route tree. Excels in outs or corners by being able to sell in-breaking routes before snapping his hips and going towards the sidelines. Willing blocker, but will need to add strength up top to withstand NFL edge defenders. Good hands, but struggled with drops on tape. Could be because of inconsistent QB play, but tends to try to make body catches a bit more than he should. Dominated his level of competition, but lack of NFL talent will be a concern and uphill battle for his draft stock. Great player though and should be an intriguing addition on Day two for a team with a need at the tight end position.

Fantasy Impact

Trautman is just a guy behind Jared Cook. While Cook has not been productive in recent weeks, he remains the top tight end on the Saints.
