Jarran Reed signs one-year, $7 million deal with Chiefs
Current free-agent and former Seattle Seahawks DT Jarran Reed has reportedly signed a one-year, $7 million with the Kansas City Chiefs, per Ian Rapoport.
The 28-year old defensive tackle will head to Kansas City on a one-year deal worth up to $7 million with $5 million guaranteed. Reed will help strengthen the interior of the Chiefs' defensive line alongside All-Pro DT Chris Jones in 2021, having recorded 37 tackles, 6.5 sacks, a pass deflection, and a forced fumble across 16 games for the Seahawks in 2020. Expect the Chiefs to continue shoring up their defense through the draft and the remainder of free agency but the addition of Reed cannot be overstated. He will help stuff running lanes and bring coveted pressure up the middle to force opposing quarterbacks to abandon the pocket.
