Paye is a prospect that is dripping with upside. He has an extremely dense frame and is rarely moved backwards off the ball in run defense. Perfect size for a 4-3 DE that will have his hand in the dirt nearly every play. Struggles with hand usage, but shows his potential from time to time. Can get eliminated from plays, but that should be fixed if he learns how to utilize his hands more effectively. It's not perfect, but he certainly shows the upside and potential. Good first step explosiveness and has the overall athleticism to jump multiple gaps at the line of scrimmage. Should be a force on looping stunts in the NFL. Solid in run defense. Has trouble disengaging from blocks from time to time, but shows a high motor and is constantly tracking the ball. Shows a high motor and is constantly keeping his eyes on the QB in pass rush and working to get in the right spot to track down. Sure tackler and able to wrap up well in both run defense and the pass rush game. Smart football player and yet still shows room to improve, which makes him a very intriguing prospect. Decent bend around the edge. Succeeds more with hand technique rather than elite bend around the edge, but again shows the room for growth in this area. Overall, a tools prospect that could easily turn into a dominant 4-3 DE if he lands with the right position coach to teach him more effective hand usage. The tools are all there, but it's just up to him to see if he can continue to grow and develop.
