Teddy Williams asks for release
Cornerback Teddy Williams has asked for his release from the Giants as he continues to deal with a “family health issue.” It’s not yet known if the Giants will grant his request.
Williams has been excused from the last several days of training camp to tend to the matter. While he still hopes to play in 2018 and would like it to be for the Giants, he doesn’t want to tie up a spot on the 90-man roster in the meantime. Williams signed a one-year, $880,000 contract in the offseason following his release from the Panthers. He has also spent time with the Jaguars, Bears, Cardinals, Colts, and Cowboys.
