| Derek Brown FantasyPros | Trey McBride was a league-winning pick last year as the TE1 in fantasy points per game (the closest tight end was 3.9 fantasy points per game behind McBride). He was a volume monster in what was a pass-happy Arizona offense. With Jacoby Brissett under center (Weeks 6-18) last year, Arizona was first in neutral passing rate and second in snaps while trailing by seven or more points (per Fantasy Points Data). The Cardinals were throwing a ton while playing catch-up weekly. McBride ran 156 more routes last year than any other tight end. This fact and McBride's talent fueled plenty of fantasy teams to championships last season. Among 59 qualifying tight ends, McBride was first in target share (25.4%), receiving yards per game (72.9), red zone targets (32), and first-read share (33.8%). Among the same sample size of tight ends, McBride was also tenth in yards per route run and 15th in first downs per route run. Arizona will likely be trailing in many games this season again, so we should expect Arizona to be chucking the ball again. In Mike LaFleur's two seasons with the Jets as offensive coordinator, he ranked ninth and fourth in negative script passing rate. McBride could repeat this season as the TE1 overall. | DeVonta Smith steps into the clear WR1 chair for the Philly passing attack. Over the last two years, in a VERY small sample, Smith has proven that he can handle it. In three games since 2024, without A.J. Brown on the field, Smith has commanded a 32.9% target share while producing 2.65 yards per route run (per Fantasy Points Data). Yes, I know the sample is tiny, but it is signal that Smith can command WR1-level volume and remain efficient while doing so. Last year, among 109 qualifying receivers, Smith was also 27th in separation and 28th in route win rate. Last year, Smith also drew a 22.7% target share while producing 2.03 yards per route run (22nd) and 0.089 first downs per route run (32nd). I expect all of those marks to improve in 2026 with Smith leading the way for Philly. He's a WR1/2 with some upside and an extremely high floor. |
| Andrew Erickson FantasyPros | DeVonta Smith enters 2026 positioned to lead the Eagles in targets with A.J. Brown no longer in Philadelphia. The former first-round pick has consistently flashed WR1 upside whenever Brown or Dallas Goedert have missed time, while quietly delivering his third 1,000-yard season in 2025. Smith was extremely efficient last season, posting career highs in yards per route run (3.1) and yards per target (11.9) when aligned out wide. Even with rookie Makai Lemon added to the mix, Smith profiles as the clear focal point of the Eagles' passing attack with top-12 fantasy upside. | |
| Pat Fitzmaurice FantasyPros | It will be hard for Trey McBride to top the year he had in 2025. He finished the season with 126 catches for 1,239 yards and 11 touchdowns on 169 targets. Among all pass catchers, McBride trailed only Puka Nacua in receptions. McBride also ranked third in targets among all pass catchers and tied for second in TD catches. It was an impressive follow-up to a 2024 season in which McBride had 111 catches for 1,146 yards and two touchdowns. There are reasons to think that McBride might have a hard time matching his 2025 numbers this season. The Cardinals threw at the highest rate in the NFL last season. That's not likely to happen again after the team drafted a running back, Jeremiyah Love, No. 3 overall. The Cardinals are also looking to get Marvin Harrison Jr. more involved after two disappointing seasons. McBride is clearly one of the elite tight ends and is worthy of a top-25 draft pick. Just don't expect a full repeat of last year. | |
