Semyon Varlamov makes 20 saves

Semyon Varlamov stopped 20 of 23 shots to pick up the win in the Avalanche's 6-3 victory over the Boston on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Varlamov has played well to start the season, recording a 3-0 record with a 1.67 GAA and .945 save percentage (86 saves on 91 shots). The 29-year-old goalie is considered Colorado's No. 1 netminder, with Jonathan Bernier being his backup. Injuries limited Varlamov to only 24 games last season, and he will probably make less then the 55-plus starts he has been accustomed to in the past. Though Varlamov is capable of a bounce-back campaign, fantasy owners should not expect top-tier numbers, as the Avalanche did not make major improvements from last campaign's dreadful club.
