Four points for Mackinnon in historic night

by Jeremy Farr | Avalanche Correspondent | Wed, Aug 19th 8:16pm EDT

Nathan Mackinnon helped himself to four points in Wednesday's elimination of the seventh seeded Arizona Coyotes. He finished the game with two goals, two assists, a plus-2 rating and six shots.

Fantasy Impact:

Mackinnon was up to his usual by making/setting up plays and demanding coverage from the defense which allows the rest of his line to get well open. If there wasn't a break on the score clock, you'd think he scored once and got two goals as both his tallies were from the same spot 58 seconds apart. That is the fastest two goals by one player in Avs history. The four point night also tied Claude Lemieux's four point game back in 1997. It's also worth mentioning that he has points in eight post season games which ties Peter Forsberg and Milan Hejduk from 2000-01. He reminds us why he's a Hart Trophy finalist whenever he hits the ice. He's up to four goals and 13 points. That'll do.
