by Matthew Catalano | Maple Leafs Correspondent | Thu, Apr 8th 5:07pm EDT

Auston Matthews got started early Wednesday as he buried a goal just 54 seconds into the first period to give the Maple Leafs a 1-0 lead. He then contributed with the primary helper on what wound up being the eventual game winning goal by Zach Hyman in the third period to give Toronto a 3-2 regulation victory over the Canadiens.

Fantasy Impact:

It is now the third straight game where Matthews has lit the lamp. He currently has 28 goals and 48 points through 37 games played this year.
