Avalanche clinch playoff berth

Nathan Mackinnon registered three assists in Thursday's 4-2 road win over the St. Louis Blues. He finished the game with three points, a plus-3 rating, five shots and one hit.

Fantasy Impact:

Mackinnon was up to his usual ways on the ice. Demanding coverage and getting his teammates open, making crisp passes for goals, and playing solid two-way hockey. He now has 19 points in his last twelve games which is a big reason the Avalanche are 18-1-2 in their last 21 games. If fantasy owners needed something to gripe about they would probably say they expected more goals from their first round pick but few will argue that his 17 goals, 38 assists, plus-28, 28 PIMs, 22 powerplay points, 169 shots, 33 hits and 14 blocks haven't been solid for them this year. Look for him and the Avalanche to be back on the ice Saturday the 24th in St. Louis.
