Per the Capitals PR on Twitter, center Nicklas Backstrom is out for tonight and is in COVID protocol. (@CapitalsPR)
Fantasy Impact:
Backstrom will not be flying with the team to Winnipeg and is heading back to Washington. It has not been confirmed if he was a close contact or tested positive. After his first game this season, this is an unfortunate setback for Backstrom.
