Brock Nelson nets game-winner against Knights

by Bruno Mulé | Avalanche Correspondent | Wed, Feb 5th 12:02pm EST

Brock Nelson delivered in the clutch Tuesday, redirecting an Alexander Romanov shot past Ilya Samsonov for the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Vegas. The tally marked Nelson’s fourth game-winner of the season and his 15th overall.

Fantasy Impact:

Nelson’s production has dipped compared to his previous three campaigns, where he racked up 107 goals and 96 assists over 236 games. He currently sits at 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists) through 52 contests. Despite the slight regression, Nelson remains a key offensive piece for the Islanders, who are now within three points of a playoff spot after winning eight of their last nine. With his contract expiring, he could also become a coveted trade asset for contenders down the stretch.
