Alex Ovechkin with record-breaking 484th NHL goal

Almost two weeks after tying Sergei Fedorov for the most goals by a Russian, Alex Ovechkin scored his 484th NHL goal to break the record, assisted by Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie. The goal tied the game at 2-2, but the Caps eventually lost by the score of 3-2. (Craig Custance of ESPN)

Ovechkin now has 17 points in 17 games played. According to ESPN, Ovechkin scored goal No. 484 in his 777th career game, compared to the 1,248 career NHL games Fedorov needed to reach 483.
