Alex Ovechkin tallied one assist in the Capitals' 5-2 loss to the Avalanche Monday.

Ovechkin has caught fire in the offensive zone, posting points in six of his last eight games (five goals, three assists) for the Capitals. The veteran winger remains one of the more dynamic offensive options in the Washington lineup for head coach Spencer Carberry, tallying 42 points (20 goals, 22 assists) in 50 games so far this season.
