D - Los Angeles Kings
Drew Doughty picked up one assist Saturday night in the Kings' 5-2 loss to the Lightning.
Doughty has been strong in the offensive zone of late for the Kings, tallying points in seven of his last nine games (one goal, eight assists) for the club. The veteran blueliner seems to have shaken off a rough early-season stretch for fantasy owners, registering 31 points (three goals, 28 assists) in 51 games so far this season.
Drew Doughty scored a third-period goal that proved to be the game-winner in a 4-3 win versus San Jose. He fired six shots on goal and had three hits in 22:27 minutes of ice time.
The goal was his third of the season to go along with 22 assists in 44 games played. In his last five games, Doughty has one goal and three assists with nine shots in that span.
Drew Doughty scored his goal near the end of the second period to put Los Angeles up 3-1. They would go on to win 4-3.
Doughty's fifth goal came on a nice feed from Anze Kopitar. He is averaging over 25 minutes a game while contributing 38 hits, 35 blocks, and being a +7 for the year.
Drew Doughty provided the secondary assists on both of Adrian Kempe's goals and then netted a power-play goal after drawing the five-minute major from Connor McDavid.
In just his third game back from a knee injury, Doughty has collected four points, seven hits, five blocked shots, and seven shots on goal. On the off chance he is available, fantasy managers should roster him immediately.
Drew Doughty picked up his seventh assist of the season in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Ducks.
Despite only playing five games since returning from injury, Doughty trails only Anze Kopitar and Alexander Edler for the team lead in assists. If an impatient owner dropped him, scoop him up now before it's too late. When healthy, he's a premier fantasy defenseman.
