Jakob Chychrun scored a goal during a 5-3 loss to Florida. He had an active game with five shots on goal and four hits in 25:10 minutes of ice time.
Even with only 20 games played, he is playing at almost a point-per-game pace with five goals and 13 assists (18 points). Chychrun has two goals and three assists in his last four games with 12 shots on goal in that span.
Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun has suffered a setback with his wrist injury and remains week-to-week.
Coyotes general manager Bill Armstong delivered the news Thursday that Chychrun remains out for a while after suffering a setback from his wrist injury. Much of the league has been anticipating the return of perhaps the most valuable player on the trade market, but it appears he's still a ways away from game action. The 24-year-old tallied seven goals and 21 points in 47 games last season but broke out with 18 goals and 41 points across 56 games in the 2020-21 campaign.
Chychrun evened the score at one at the 10:16 mark of the first period. The defenseman later contributed an assist to Barrett Hayton to help even the score at two a piece to close the first period.
The goal marks just his third of the season and the helper brings him to 12. He settles in at 15 points with just under a month until the trade deadline.
Chychrun added helpers on two Coyotes goals versus Vegas. He also blocked two shots on the night.
The two assists were the first multi point night for the Arizona defenseman since November 18th. Trade rumors continue to swirl around the Coyotes veteran and with just 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) in 41 games a change of scenery might jump start his offensive game.
Jakob Chychrun had an assist in the Coyotes' 4-1 win over the Devils on Wednesday. He was a plus one with one assist, two SOG, one hits and two blocks in 20:20 of ice-time.
It was nice to see Chychrun return to action and get a point. He has disappointed this season with two goals and six assists in 26 games this season. But it is tough to get going as a defenseman when your team struggles offensively.
