Mike Green acquired from Detroit Red Wings

The Oilers gave up center Kyle Brodziak who is on long-term injured reserve and a draft pick.

Fantasy Impact

Green was on the ice for 12:58 in his first game for Edmonton. He has 11 points in 49 games (-33) and is not likely to have much fantasy impact.

Mike Green dealt to the Oilers

Mike Green was traded to the Oilers for Kyle Brodziak and a conditional draft pick.

Fantasy Impact

Green was a very good offensive defenseman in his prime. That was years ago. He still has a good shot and could see some time on one of the league’s best power-play units. He is worth putting on the watchlist and swopping up if he gets first line power-play minutes.

Mike Green scores his first goal in over two months

Mike Green scored a goal in the Red Wings 4-3 win over the Canadiens on Tuesday.  He was a plus two with one goal on two SOG in 24:09 of ice-time. Green now has three goals and seven assists in 47 games played.

Fantasy Impact

Green was once on a prolific scorer on one of the league’s biggest offensive juggernauts. His 31-goal season was 11 years ago. Time flies and father time is still undefeated. Another issue for Green over the years has been his inability to stay healthy he has not played 70-games since 2016-2017.

Mike Green registers his first point of the season

Mike Green scored the lone Red Wings goal in their 2-1 loss to the Oilers on Friday. He was a plus one with one goal on three SOG in 20:37 of ice-time.

Fantasy Impact

Green's best days might be behind him but at least he has a good shot still. With the lack of good fantasy defenseman he should be rostered in a lot of leagues. In smaller rostered leagues he can stay on the waiver wire.

Mike Green records two points

Mike Green scored a goal in the Red Wings 5-4 overtime victory over the Maple Leafs on Thursday. He was a plus two with one goal, one assist and 4 SOG in 24:24 of ice-time.

Fantasy Impact

Green might not be able to score 20 goals anymore but he should put up 50 points. He currently has three goals and 13 assists for 16 points in 20 games played. Green is showing the league he is still one of the best offensive defensemen in the world.
