Tuukka Rask returns to Bruins

Tuukka Rask will be suiting up for Boston once again as he has signed a one year, $1 million contract after being released from the Providence Bruins PTO.

Fantasy Impact

This will create a bit of log jam situation for fantasy as the Bruins are now carrying three goalies. Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman have both performed well over the season to date. He should be picked up if available.

Tuukka Rask expected to start in AHL on Friday

Tuukka Rask has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Boston Bruins AHL affiliate team, the Providence Bruins. This is the first step in his potential return to the NHL.

Fantasy Impact

Rask was put on the shelf as an unrestricted free agent as he underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right hip over the summer time. He's been rehabilitating at the Bruins practice facility in the mean time. If you have a spare roster space, he's not the worst flier to take on.

Tuukka Rask surrendered four goals on just 16 shots through two periods of action in Monday's Game 5 loss to the Islanders. Rask was pulled after the second and replaced by rookie Jeremy Swayman for the final period of play.

Fantasy Impact

Rask did not look sharp at all, but he will have little time to reflect as he must get ready for a must-win Game 6 on Wednesday. He currently has a 6-3 record with a 2.20 GAA and 0.925 save percentage through ten starts this post-season.
