Zach Werenski and the Columbus Blue Jackets have agreed to terms on a three-year extension worth $15 million. He will report to training camp this week. (Source: Chris Johnston on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: After Werenski's contract situation was publicly called out by his head coach John Tortorella, the D-man has finally agreed to a bridge deal that will keep him with CBJ. At just 22 years of age, Werenski already has three solid seasons under his belt, most recently putting up 44 points in 82 games in 2018-19. The Blue Jackets are going to have a different look to them after the departures of Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky, but Werenski remains locked into his top-pairing minutes, with some power-play opportunity sure to be sprinkled in as well.

Seth Jones was held off the scoresheet on Monday during a 3-0 loss to Boston. The defeat ends the season for Jones and the Blue Jackets. He finishes the playoffs with three goals and six assists in 10 games played.

Fantasy Impact: It was obviously a disappointing end to the year after Columbus swept the President’s Trophy-winning Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the playoffs. Despite the loss, the 24-years-old Jones still has an incredibly bright future in the NHL. Look for him to continue to shine next season even if the Blue Jackets regress as a team with the possible departures of goalie Sergei Bobrovsky and forward Artemi Panarin via free agency this summer.

Dean Kukan scored his first career post-season goal to help tie up Game Five 3-3 with almost six minutes remaining in the third period. Sadly for Columbus, Boston's forward David Pastrnak buried his second goal of the game with less than two minutes remaining in regulation to secure a 4-3 win.

Fantasy Impact: Kukan helped out in a big way for Columbus as they nearly forced OT in Game Five against Boston. He will need to contribute in a similar way this Monday night as the Blue Jackets are facing elimination for the first time this post-season.

Joonas Korpisalo allowed three goals on 32 shots as Columbus fell 4-2 to the St. Louis Blues Saturday night.

Fantasy Impact: Korpisalo is one of many backup goalies with scant fantasy value, but depending on how the situation with beleaguered incumbent starter Sergei Bobrovsky goes, he's worth keeping a faint eye on.

Fri, Dec 14th 11:18am EST
By John Pritchard

Josh Anderson scored a second period goal in the Blue Jackets 4-1 defeat of the Kings Thursday.

Ryan Murray collected his 8th assist of the year on Pierre-Luc Dubois’s game winning goal in the third period of the Blue Jackets 2–1 win over Dallas on Monday night.

Fantasy Impact: Ryan Murray is healthy and productive. Two things that have evaded him early in his career after being the 2nd overall pick in the 2012 draft. Murray has 1 goal and 8 assists through 18 games this year. If healthy, Murray should set career highs this season. The low 30 point range is a safe estimate for Murray this season. Murray is a decent deep league player.

Alex Wennberg got his 8th assist of the season on Oliver Bjorkstrand’s first period power play goal in the Blue Jackets 2–1 win over the Capitals.

Fantasy Impact: Alex Wennberg has had a rough start to the season. Wennberg has 0 goals and 8 assists through 16 games. Very mediocre numbers from someone who scored 59 points two seasons ago. With only third line even strength duty and second power play duty he may be hard pressed to improve his totals. At the moment Wennberg is only good for a speculative add in deep leagues.

Nick Foligno grabbed his 5th assist of the year on Oliver Bjorkstrand’s first period power play goal in Columbus’s 2–1 victory over Washington on Friday night.

Fantasy Impact: Nick Foligno is about as steady as they come. Foligno has 5 goals and 5 assists on the season. Foligno is on the second even strength and power play lines. With Foligno you can count on hits, PIMs and about 40-50 points. Foligno has his most value in leagues that have hits and PIMs as categories.

Anthony Duclair potted his 7th goal of the season on the power play in the 3rd period of the Blue Jackets 2-1 victory over the Capitals on Friday night.

Fantasy Impact: Anthony Duclair seems to have reinvigorated himself upon his arrival in Columbus. Duclair has the talent and has scored as many as 44 points in his career. On the season Duclair has 7 goals and 3 assists through 16 games. Duclair is getting first power play unit duty and if he could move up from the third line then you would really see a spike in his production. Currently, Duclair is only of value in deep fantasy leagues.

Matt Calvert notched an assist and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Stars.

Fantasy Impact: Calvert only has four points (all assists) in his last 14 games, but due to injures, Calverts speed and feistiness could allow him to take advantage of his increased ice time.
