St. Louis Blues

western central

Vince Dunn recorded an assist versus Vancouver in Game 6. Like many of his teammates, his play in the postseason this season could be said to have declined compared to last season.

Fantasy Impact: Dunn is a solid fantasy option at defensemen. Dunn is still young with only three seasons under his belt.

Alex Pietrangelo recorded an assist versus the Canucks in Game 7. St Louis has been eliminated.

Fantasy Impact: Pietrangelo is a solid fantasy option although he has never been elite. Pietrangelo finished with 36 assists this season which was his eighth season with at least 30.

Ryan O'Reilly recorded an assist in Game 6 versus the Canucks. He recorded four points over the last three games.

Fantasy Impact: Ryan O'Reilly is in a good position in terms of fantasy. He is part of an explosive line that was quite good in the postseason.

David Perron recorded an assist versus Vancouver in Game 6. Perron was one of the best fantasy options for the Blues in this failed postseason.

Fantasy Impact: Perron is a very good player on a great team. Perron had already reached 60 points before the season ended and will go into the next season as a desirable option after the stars are gone.

Jaden Schwartz scored twice versus the Canucks in Game 6. He finished the postseason with four goals.

Fantasy Impact: Schwartz is a solid option but not elite. He has topped 50 points in five of the previous six seasons.

Jordan Binnington gave up four goals before getting pulled 8:06 into the second period. St Louis would be eliminated a season after winning the Stanley Cup.

Fantasy Impact: Binnington goes into the off-season with a question hanging over his head despite being tied to one of the best teams. Whichever goalie of the duo claims the #1 job next season will be a strong option.

Brayden Schenn scored a goal versus the Canucks in Game 5. The goal was his second of the series, with the first being the overtime game-winner in Game 3.

Fantasy Impact: Schenn now has five straight seasons with at least 54 points and is a former #5 overall pick. Schenn is a part of the best fantasy line the Blues have.

Zach Sanford scores a goal versus Vancouver Wednesday in Game 5. The power-play score was his first point in nearly two weeks.

Fantasy Impact: Sanford put up 30 points in 58 games this shortened season. This was a step forward in his second season of extensive play in the NHL.

Jake Allen allowed four goals, including three in less than seven minutes when Vancouver came back from down 3-1 to take the lead. That flurry would prove decisive in the 4-3 loss.

Fantasy Impact: Allen is a very talented goalie who has previous strong efforts in the playoffs. If he continues to start, he is a strong option. It is possible, however, that the team turns back to Jordan Binnington after this loss.

Justin Faulk scored a goal versus Vancouver in Game 3. It was both his first goal of the postseason and the first goal of the game for the Blues.

Fantasy Impact: Faulk has been one of the better goal-scoring defensemen in the NHL in the past. He had six straight seasons of 30+ points but only one over 37 (2014-15 with 49). The streak was broken this season and he wasn't even on pace for it so the COVID shutdown does not get all the blame.

Carl Gunnarsson recorded an assist in Game 3 versus the Canucks. The assist came on the overtime game-winner.

Fantasy Impact: Gunnarsson is a more important real-life player than a fantasy one. He was drafted in 2007 and has never bested 20 points in a season.

Sammy Blais scored a goal versus the Canucks in Game 2. His goal was unassisted. Blais was also called for a minor penalty.

Fantasy Impact: Blais had not been much of a fantasy option in the past, especially for a winger. Also, the Blues are not looking very good so it is questionable how many games he has left in these playoffs.

Tyler Bozak recorded an assist Thursday versus Vegas. The assist was the only one on the final Blues goal.

Fantasy Impact: Bozak is a solid depth option in fantasy. In the last seven seasons that he played at least 57 games, he reached at least 35 points.

Troy Brouwer scored the final Blues goal Thursday versus Vegas. The goal put them up 4-3 but they would end up losing 6-4. Brouwer also was called for a minor penalty.

Fantasy Impact: Brouwer's past three seasons were sub-30 point campaigns. That is simply not much of an impact for a winger in most leagues.

Colton Parayko scored two goals versus the Golden Knights Thursday. The Blues would lose 6-4.

Fantasy Impact: Parayko was a star in the playoffs last season so perhaps he is a clutch-type of a performer. In his first four seasons, he has reached at least 28 points each season which is respectable for a defenseman in fantasy.

Ivan Barbashev scored a goal versus the Ducks Wednesday. The goal was his 11th of the season.

Fantasy Impact: Barbashev set career-highs in goals, assists, and points in 2018-19. The Russian center played on the fourth line last season and could see even better opportunities this season.

Jordan Kyrou recorded an assist versus Anaheim. Technically the assist came before the game was postponed on February 11th.

Fantasy Impact: Kyrou was a highly-regarded young prospect coming up. Keep an eye on him in case he breaks out.

Category: Game Recaps

Robert Thomas recorded an assist versus Florida Monday. The assist was the only one of the game for the Blues.

Fantasy Impact: Thomas is a 2017 1st round pick who made it to the NHL to play 70 games in 2018-19. His 33 points were a good rookie season for the 20-year old.

Roberto Bortuzzo scored a goal Sunday versus the Blackhawks. The goal was his second of the season.

Fantasy Impact: Bortuzzo has not been much of a fantasy factor in his career. He should not be owned in most leagues.

Category: Game Recaps

Jay Bouwmeester has recovered from his cardiac episode to be feeling "pretty normal". Despite the positive progress for his personal health, the head coach says Bouwmeester will not play again this year.

Fantasy Impact: Bouwmeester is 36 years old and due to be an unrestricted free agent after the season and may never play in the NHL again. He also hasn't been much of a fantasy factor for a while. Feel free to drop him.
