It’s 4th of July weekend and what better way is there to start it off than with a successful FanDuel lineup? Our friends at FanDuel have been hosting our DFAC competition all season long and like all the other weeks, the top experts are here to name what players will be in all of their lineups for Friday’s contest.
Let the pundits pick some cornerstones for your lineup and to round things out, take advantage of our FanDuel Cheat Sheet.
Q1. What one pitcher will you be including in all or most of your daily lineups Friday and why?
Clayton Kershaw (P, LAD) – $12,300
“Kershaw has a hefty price tag, but I’ll be paying up for it Friday night. He and the Dodgers are -260 favorites at home against a Mets team that strikes out a ton (23.8 K% vs. LHP) and simply aren’t very good offensively. With FanDuel’s soft pricing, Kerhsaw’s price tag isn’t as restrictive as you would think. He’s the clear cut top pitching option of the night – fade at your own risk.”
– Dan Gaspar (FantasyInsiders)
“There are times to get cute at starting pitcher, but today is not one of those times. Kershaw will take on an anemic Mets’ offense at home and there are more than enough value bats available to fit his expensive salary into your lineup. A 20+ point game seems likely here and you’ll likely need him in your lineup in both cash games and tournaments.”

Michael Wacha (P, STL) – $8,600
“On a day when Clayton Kershaw is pitching against the punch-less Mets, it’s hard to resist starting him. However, his price is just too high for me, so I’m looking at Michael Wacha pitching at home against the Padres, a team that ranks among the bottom three of the NL in batting average and OPS. Wacha has been almost unhittable at home with a BAA of .203 and a wOBA of .261. I’m confident he’ll notch a win with decent strikeout totals in this game.”

Q2. What one hitter will you be including in all or most of your daily lineups Friday and why?
Kole Calhoun (OF, LAA) – $2,300
It’s almost impressive how bad, but good, Chi-Chi Gonzalez has been through 6 starts for the Rangers. He got hit around a little 2 outings ago, but his 2.59 ERA still remains nearly 2.5 points less than his 5.02 xFIP. He possesses an amazingly lucky 82.6% strand-rate and an even more lucky .205 BABIP despite opposing hitters putting solid contact on the ball. Did I mention he actually has walked more hitters than he’s struck out? All of this to say: get some cheap Angels bats in your lineup against this poor pitcher who has been extremely lucky. Calhoun is the most desirable option at only $2,300 as he’s an overall solid hitter with some pop in his bat.
– Dan Gaspar (FantasyInsiders)
David Peralta (OF, ARI) – $3,900
“Peralta is hitting right-handers very well this season with a triple slash of .277/.348/.480. All seven of his homers have been against righties. He’ll be playing at home against Kyle Kendrick, who’s been pretty awful on the road (5.60 road ERA) and gives up home runs in bunches (23 HRs in 96.1 IP this season).”
– Tim McCullough (RotoExperts)
Gerardo Parra (OF, MIL) – $2,600
“Parra is cheap, should be hitting leadoff, and has a fantastic matchup vs. Michael Lorenzen who has been hammered by left-handed bats all season long. Throw in a good hitter’s park in Cincinnati and you have a very nice value play.”
