Gillies signs with San Diego

The San Diego Padres and Tyson Gillies have come to an agreement on a minor-league deal. Gillies was selected in the 25th round of the 2010 draft. Gillies was traded to the Phillies from Seattle as part of the Cliff Lee deal in December 2009, and the Phillies lost patience with the young outfielder, who had struggles on and off the field. Fantasy Impact:
This signing might have had some relevance last year. But, as San Diego has made some major offensive improvements, Gillies will need a miracle to have any sort of fantasy value.
