Jeremy Jeffress agrees to minor-league deal with the Nationals

by Jon Mathisen | Mon, Feb 22nd 1:06pm EST

Free agent reliever Jeremy Jeffress has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Washington Nationals, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. (Mark Feinsand on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Jeffress will earn $1.25 million with another potential $1.25 million in performance bonuses if he's able to crack the Nats' roster, according to Feinsand. Jeffress put up a solid season with the Cubs last year, registering a 1.54 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 17:12 K/BB ratio to go along with eight saves over 23 1/3 innings. This looks like a team friendly deal with the Nationals if the 33-year-old can make the roster.
