Jose Alvarado has been placed on the 15-day IL due to left elbow inflammation, retroactive to July 7th. (Philadelphia Phillies on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
This is not welcoming news as Alvarado will go on the IL for the second time this season due to elbow inflammation. It's unclear how long he will be out, but it's possible that this could be a lengthy absence. Craig Kimbrel should be the primary closer especially with Alvarado out.
