Jimmy Rollins stays hot in lead-off role

by Eric Westlund | Sat, Aug 8th 7:05am EDT

Jimmy Rollins had an impressive game against Pirates ace Gerrit Cole on Friday, batting 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. His season batting line is still just .223/.280/.366, but that includes a fantastic .265/.342/.500 in 18 games since the All-Star break.

Fantasy Impact:

When Rollins replaced the slumping Joc Pederson at lead-off last week it felt like a temporary switch, but at this rate Rollins should hold onto the job for the rest of the season. Rollins may have been dropped in some fantasy leagues, and he is certainly worth an add at a thin shortstop position as long as he is producing at this clip.
