Adrian Houser hammered again in loss to Cardinals

by Chris Schommer | Mets Correspondent | Sun, Apr 28th 8:12am EDT

Adrian Houser struggled mightily in Saturday's 7-4 loss to the Cardinals, surrendering six earned runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out only two over 4.1 innings.

Fantasy Impact:

This performance continues a troubling trend for Houser, whose season ERA ballooned to an alarming 8.37, accompanied by a WHIP of 1.90. His inability to miss bats, evidenced by a paltry 5.3 K/9, combined with a high BABIP of .346, suggests that luck hasn't been entirely to blame for his struggles. Fantasy managers should be extremely cautious with Houser moving forward, as his high ERA and WHIP are detrimental in almost all formats, and his low strikeout numbers offer little to no consolation.
