Offensive Coordinator says 'dont fall asleep on' Vernon Davis

When asked about Vernon Davis, Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman stated “I thought Vernon did a phenomenal job. He really did a lot of dirty work this past week,†Roman said, according to a transcript from the team. “Part of it I would say was earlier he had some nicks. I think we discussed that a couple weeks ago. And part of it is some of the things we’re seeing, the defensive responses to what we’re getting. But, don’t fall asleep on him.†(profootballtalk.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Davis has battled a constant stream of injuries in 2014, and his usage has dropped to historic lows. To put it in context, the eminently forgettable Chase Ford has seen more targets per game (4.83), than the former Pro-Bowler Davis (4.29). Davis is a unique talent when healthy, and while it is laudable that he's trying to help his team by playing hurt, its torpedoed his fantasy value. I wouldn't cut Davis in 10-12 team leagues, but I wouldn't start him either.
