RB Ryan Mathews was listed as probable for Sunday's game against Oakland. Ricky Henne's interview with OC Frank Reicht also gave insight that Mathews will see action on the field Sunday and the amount of the workload will depend on Mathews. The Chargers coaching staff want to proceed with caution, not over-extending their featured running back. (Chargers.com)
Fantasy Impact:
It appears that Mathews would be a pretty good bet to start on your team if you own him. However, there is always the chance the team will depend more on a committee approach to ease Mathews back into action. If you have two other running backs worthy to start, it might be the safe play to go in that direction.
