Jimmy Clausen to start in Week 16

by Dale Redman | Wed, Dec 17th 6:50pm EST

The Bears have decided to bench Jay Cutler and start Jimmy Clausen at QB this Sunday against Detroit. The move is performance based as Cutler does not have an injury of any kind. Clausen has not played in any meaningful games this season and has only attempted nine passes. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The move to Clausen would most likely be for the final two games of the season, as Chicago has nothing left to play for this season. This may also signal that Cutler is on his way out and the Bears want to see what they have in Clausen. I would stay away from any Bears in Week 16, as the move to Clausen still represents a serious downgrade in QB talent and Detroit has been one of the tougher defenses all season long.
