Rumor: Seahawks and Patriots interested in Todd Gurley at end of RD1

by Brian Tesch | Fri, Jan 30th 9:47am EST

In their initial mock drafts, NFL.com analysts have either the Seahawks or Patriots taking Georgia RB Todd Gurley with either pick 31 or 32 in the 2015 NFL draft. Both have Gurley as the 2nd RB taken in the 1st round. (NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

A freakish athletic talent coming off a major knee injury, Gurley's situation echoes that of Willis McGahee, who ended up being selected in the 1st round. While he may need a redshirt year to get healthy, Gurley was a unanimous top 15 pick before injuring his ACL, and is yet another example of why the NFL needs to change its eligibility rules. Both the Seahawks and the Patriots have primary running-backs in their late 20's and could afford to ease Gurley into the offense in 2015 with an eye towards 2016.
