Breaking Football
Brees is typically in the top three and this one could be a shootout at home.Packers still aren't good enough on D and Kap is comfy at home.
Muntradamus
Beast Dome
The Saints still have a terrible defense. Which means Drew Brees and that Saints offense will have to put up over 30 Points consistently. Colston/Moore/Graham will all be solid fantasy options as Drew is the safest 4,500 Yards in the NFL. Saints say they are going to run the ball more..maybe if it was 08' and Deuce McAllister was the RB. This is the Drew Brees show.Colin is Jamie Fox from Any Given Sunday. Nobody really likes him, but they all know he can dominate the game. With the #1 Selling 2013 NFL Jersey, the controversy over the Dolphins hat, to winning an Espy for best breakthrough athlete. He knows his time is now to win that Superbowl.
Derek Lofland
Fantasy Football Maniax
Brees had 298 yards passing and 3 passing touchdowns against the Falcons last year and he has at least 3 touchdowns in a home game against Atlanta was the 2009 season. This game figures to be a shootout.I do not think it will be possible for Kaepernick to duplicate the masterpiece he had in the Divisional Round when the 49ers gained 579 yards of offense against the Packers and not having Michael Crabtree will hurt, but the 49ers seem to have the Packers number and I expect Kaepernick to play well.
Staff Rankings
RotoBaller
Possible Sean Payton Vengeance factor.Probably won't rush for 180 yards again, but he's too talented for GB.
Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
If you decide to take a 1st round QB plunge Brees is the name to callShould take major strides with additions of Boldin, Patton, Collie
Jeff Boggis
Fantasy Sports Empire
This game is going to be a shootout and both Matt Ryan and Drew Brees are going to have big passing games in week 1. Atlanta gave up the 7th fewest fantasy points to Quarterbacks last season with 13.6.Green Bay gave up the 19th fewest fantasy points to Quarterbacks last season with 16.4.
Taylor Smith
NFL Soup
Brees throws more picks than does Rodgers, but that's the only thing that really separates the two. With Sean Payton back on the sidelines, Brees and the Saints should rebound from a subpar '12 season. He'll be missing his favorite weapon with Michael Crabtree sidelined indefinitely, but Kaep's combination of a cannon arm and insane speed make him a can't-miss fantasy prospect. It wouldn't be all that surprising to see him wind up as the highest-scoring player in fantasy this season. Then again, he doesn't have the longest body of work behind him, either.
Chet Gresham
The Fake Football
In 15 games against Atlanta Brees has averaged 300 yards passing and 2 touchdowns per game. That's pretty amazing for that many games. He hasn't averaged over 300 yards passing against any team he's faced more than 5 times. He's easily my #1 pick this week with Rodgers heading to San Francisco. In the Divisional playoffs last season the Packers weren't ready for Kaepernick's read option and he completely destroyed them, rushing 16 times for 181 yards and two touchdowns while also passing for 263 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. They should be more prepared for it this time, but you would have thought they would have been prepared in a playoff game as well.
Jordan Tozzi
Legion Report
Sean Payton is back. Brees had a monster season last year even with the coaching situation being a complete cluster. Brees and Rodgers are neck and neck giving a 1A 1B type ranking.Like Cam Newton, we love the ability for the big runs and the rushing TDs. With the loss of Crabtree and lack of consistency at WR, we feel that Harbaugh will stick to the run game this season. Kaepernick is still a strong option at QB and I would be confident drafting him to any fantasy squad.
Staff Rankings
FFLockerRoom
With the Saints back a full strength Brees will be ready to exhaust his many weapons.
