He is a top target for Peyton and his ability to find the end-zone help him to be elite.
His ability to find the end-zone allow him to remain elite among TEs.

Derek Lofland

Thomas had a breakout season with 65 receptions for 788 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. As long as QB Peyton Manning is playing strong, Thomas should be an elite fantasy tight end.
I am a little worried about Witten's age, as he turns 32 years old this year and did not have his normal big season with 73 receptions for 851 yards. He did tally eight touchdowns though and 32 is not too old for a tight end to maintain good fantasy value. He's probably 2-3 seasons from declining, but it is something to monitor.

will have a slightly better season than '13

Orange Julius has certainly not rested on his laurels as he consistently worked this off-season with future Hall of Fame TE – Tony Gonzalez. Thomas ended 2013 with 788 Receiving Yards and 12 TDs and is expecting to be used much more creatively in his Sophomore Season . Thomas said, ”I think there are a lot of things that our offense wanted to do with me, but you can only learn so much in one year.” If you miss on Jimmy Graham, Thomas is the obvious replacement and should be snatched up relatively early before the cliff of a tier rapidly approaches. In our opinion, Thomas is the final “lock it up” option at the TE position.
You know what you’re getting when you draft Jason Witten. With Scott Linehan in Dallas, they’re incorporating a pass heavy scheme. The Cowboys Defense keeps getting worse as the season nears, so you can expect Dallas to remain in a lot of shootouts this season. The 32 year old isn’t the sexy pick he used to be, but he’s still got a little left in his tank.

10TD capable without a doubt!

I almost put JT in the tier before this because I think he takes a step forward this year. He was hurt early in his career and was already a raw player, so last season was a revelation as Peyton and company helped take his physical talents and turn them into great production. With a full season, off-season and healthy training camp under his belt I only see more to come.
Witten is still Romo's safety blanket and this season the Cowboys are going to need to pass a ton to keep up with teams scoring all over their decimated defense.

Initial rankings had him fairly low, but he'll still be steady this year as the Cowboys throw the ball 600+ times.

Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Killed it in just 14 games despite sharing the rock a ton. No Decker could mean an even bigger 2014 season.
He could be in for a solid bounce back season. Upside possibly capped now but value is pretty good.

Pat Fitzmaurice
The Football Girl
Not nearly as talented as Graham and Gronk, but, oh, that Denver offense.
A lot of fantasy experts are fading him, but he just keeps plugging away.

Jeff Boggis
Fantasy Football Empire
In 2013, 12 TDs and 2 games with over 100+ receiving yards. Eric Decker is gone and look for Thomas to replace Decker's 2013 stats of 87 receptions, 1,288 receiving yards, and 11 TDs. If you miss out on Jimmy Graham and still want an elite TE, then target Thomas in rounds 3 or 4 this season.

Raju Byfield
Win My Fantasy League
Julius Thomas is an elite tight end option you should draft early but is not as elite as the top two and should not be a consideration in the first round. Julius should have another fantastic season and is perfectly capable of a top two finish.
Jason Witten will remain an every-down player and should be a solid TE1 option though he will have more upside in PPR formats.

Tom Schriner
FFLockerRoom
Thomas was the breakout fantasy player in the 2013 season with 788 yards and 12 scores while not playing in all 16 regular season contests. This offseason he spent time working with Tony Gonzalez. He caught three passes for 35 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos' second preseason game against the 49ers. He will get better and Manning will continue to use him as a major red zone threat, especially with the loss of Eric Decker.
Witten is one of the consistent options at the tight end position. He usually gets you a top 10 yardage total and touchdown total. He has had over 1,000 yards in four of his ten seasons and has a great connection with quarterback Tony Romo. Witten is getting up there in age, but that is no reason to pass on him in your fantasy drafts.
