DraftKings NFL Value Plays: Week 17 (2019)

DraftKings NFL Value Plays: Week 17 (2019)

Welcome to Week 17 of the NFL season. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season! Let’s hope we can finish the regular season off with a bang.

Each week, I will provide a recap of the prior week’s picks. The cheaper the player, the higher the value you are hoping to get. The ultimate goal is to get three-to-four times the price of each player. The higher the value, the better the play.

Quarterback: Andy Dalton – 37.8 points (7.27x!!!)

Running Back: Le’Veon Bell – 13.3 points (2.29x), Melvin Gordon III – 22.7 points (4.05x)

Wide Receiver: Diontae Johnson – 22.1 points (4.70x), Steven Sims – 25.3 points (6.33x!!!)

Tight End: Jacob Hollister – 11.4 points (2.71x)

The goal of this article is to provide daily fantasy football advice for DraftKings value plays. Implementing a few value plays in your lineups allows for the opportunity to play the top-tier studs. The key with a value play is to find a player with a high floor that also has the opportunity for a breakout game. Non-tight ends under $6K and tight ends under $4.5K will be considered value plays.

Quarterback

Robert Griffin III (BAL): $5,100 vs. PIT
The Pittsburgh Steelers need to win this game while the Baltimore Ravens will bench most of their starters because this game means nothing to them. It’s tough to guess how motivated the Ravens will be. My guess is the Ravens would love to knock their division rival out of playoff contention. This is nowhere near the RG3 of the past, but he does provide a nice rushing floor. He hasn’t produced all season and is facing a nice defense. DraftKings did a nice job of pricing the quarterbacks this week. At his price with his rushing ability, RG3 should provide good value this week.

Running Back

Le’Veon Bell (NYJ): $5,800 @ BUF
Will Bell finally have a breakout game? He was given 29 touches last week, but he just hasn’t been as efficient as usual. The Buffalo Bills have conceded a lot of rushing yards and have been great against the pass. It would make sense for Adam Gase to feed Bell again, but he doesn’t always do the logical thing. Hopefully, Bell can see similar touches and finally produce in possibly his last game as a New York Jet.

Wide Receiver

Christian Kirk (ARI): $4,700 @ LAR
The Los Angeles Rams have been officially eliminated from the playoffs after last week. Sean McVay typically rests guys in meaningless games, so we may see some more value open up later in the week. He has already ruled out Jalen Ramsey which is good news for Kirk. Ramsey might not have shadowed anyone, but with him off the field, the Rams have very little talent at the cornerback position. Kirk was horrible last week, but this is a great spot to bounce back in his last opportunity of the year.

Tight End

O.J. Howard (TB): $4,300 vs. ATL
With the loss of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, Howard tied a season-high in targets last week. The Buccaneers have been eliminated for a few weeks now, but they have continued to play their starters. This game sets up as one of the best games of the weekend. There should be plenty of opportunity for Howard this week. After being in the doghouse for most of the year, expect Howard to finish the year off well.
