Monkey Knife Fight Advice: Week 11 (2020 Fantasy Football)

Welcome to Monkey Knife Fight. Monkey Knife Fight is one of the more intriguing entrants in the DFS arena. Instead of the traditional salary cap based contests, Monkey Knife Fight allows DFS players to put their fantasy football knowledge and predictive powers to the test.

They offer fantasy point and stat based contests. Perhaps the most appealing of all of their offerings is the ‘More or Less’ contests. In these contests, you can choose whether a player will fall above or below totals for a preset combination of two to 10 players. Your win probability obviously goes down with the more players you add, but you receive an increased payout multiplier in exchange.

Since Monkey Knife Fight’s fantasy point and stat-based totals are dynamic, meaning the total, total type, and pairings change throughout the week, it is important to search for favorable and advantageous total pairings to exploit on a daily basis. Ideally, when choosing a total pairing you want to feel extremely confident on one of the totals, and feel strongly enough about the other total to proceed. This week we will take a look at some of the ‘More’ options that stood out the most for Week 11. Note that these are not locked in pairings, and may no longer be offered by the time you log in to make your picks.

Alvin Kamara (RB – NO): 5.5 receptions

Alvin Kamara should be heavily utilized in Week 11 regardless of who is under center. Yes, we would feel a lot more comfortable with Drew Brees dumping off to Kamara, but Taysom Hill should follow the same dink-dink-dink-dunk pattern that Brees has leaned on this season. Hill has a bigger arm than Brees does at this point of his career, but is also less accurate. Hill will also be using his legs on more than a handful of plays, which should, in theory, help to loosen things up for Alvin Kamara.

We are actually lucky that MonkeyKnifeFight posted the receptions total for Kamara this morning as receiving yards and rushing yards are much riskier with the Falcons likely to zero in on stopping Kamara as a way to dare Taysom Hill to beat them with his arm (and his legs). The QB spy the Falcons are likely to leave in the box will also hurt Kamara’s yardage upside.

Kamara has recorded seven or more receptions in four of his last five contests and is poised to hit at least the six required for the ‘More’ to be the play for Week 11 at MonkeyKnifeFight. Both this Kamara offering and the Julio listed below are easier to access than normal as MKF has declined to post a Taysom Hill number (two QB’s are always in their 6×6 offer and always in their 2×2. Now with Hill out, we get Kamara instead. This is a rare opportunity to exploit, so take full advantage where possible.

Pick: More

Julio Jones (WR – ATL): 86.5 receiving yards

Julio Jones at just 86.5 receiving yards is extremely appealing. Jones has averaged 5.9 receptions for 92.6 receiving yards per game in 16 games against the New Orleans Saints. Yes, Marshon Lattimore has stepped up his play as of late, but Julio is still Julio. The only concern with Julio netting more than 86.5 receiving yards is that with Taysom Hill under center for New Orleans, that Atlanta may jump out to an early lead and look to lean on the run. If that happens and is combined with Matt Ryan‘s frustrating propensity to stop looking for Julio for what seems like series’ at a time, Julio could fall under the number.

Julio has recorded 97 or more receiving yards in three of his last four contests and is poised to hit at least the 87 receiving yards required to hit the ‘More’ and MonkeyKnifeFight. This is one of the better numbers posted at MKF for Week 11, so be sure to give the Saints versus the Falcons a long, hard look as you are deciding on which contest to join, especially with Alvin Kamara also being one of the stronger plays posted this weekend. Averaging 91.1 receiving yards per game on the season and going up against a team that he has had success against for pretty much his entire career, the ‘More’ is the play for Week 11.
