Fantasy Football Week 3 Waiver Wire Targets (2022)

Fantasy Football Week 3 Waiver Wire Targets (2022)

I think Week 2 was a good week to win. Ah, let me amend that. Every week is a good week to win. However, a high waiver priority this week isn’t of utmost importance. There really weren’t many earth-shattering player ascensions. However, there are definitely still some names to keep on your radar for when you’re making your claims tomorrow and throughout the week. Here are some!

Running Backs

D’Onta Foreman (RB – CAR): 5% rostered

Now is the time to scoop up handcuffs if you haven’t already. Through two weeks, Foreman appears to be Carolina’s second-in-line should anything happen to Christian McCaffrey.

Eno Benjamin (RB – ARI): 4% rostered

James Conner hurt his ankle on Sunday, but reports indicate the injury won’t keep him out long, if at all. However, if Conner misses any time, the 2020 seventh-round pick in Benjamin could be a flex consideration. Benjamin and Darrel Williams split carries in Conner’s absence (eight each), so I wouldn’t get my hopes too high of finding a workhorse here.

Wide Receivers

Nelson Agholor (WR – NE): 0.6% rostered

Jakobi Meyers led the team with 13 targets, but Agholor led New England receivers in fantasy points. He caught each of his six targets for 110 yards and a touchdown. The battle for New England’s WR1 spot is up in the air, and Agholor has as good a shot as anyone to earn it.

Noah Brown (WR – DAL): 0.8% rostered

With Dak Prescott out, you could’ve told me the Dallas offense would look as bad as you want, and I’d probably believe you. However, they scored 20 points and beat the Bengals. Now, through two weeks, Noah Brown has 14 targets, 10 catches, 159 yards and a touchdown. I’m not incredibly high on Brown, mainly because Michael Gallup should be back sooner rather than later, and rookie Jalen Tolbert will probably factor in more as the season goes on.

Tight Ends

Gerald Everett (TE – LAC): 31% rostered

Everett is the TE4 through the first two weeks of the season. While I don’t think he can sustain this pace (Ahem, Keenan Allen‘s return), if you’re streaming tight ends, you have to consider using a top waiver claim on Everett. He’s the TE1 in a great offense, and he’s actually producing. Don’t overthink it.

Isaiah Likely (TE – BAL): 4% rostered

Admittedly, I was really downplaying the Isaiah Likely talk this preseason. I didn’t see a world where a rookie backup tight end became fantasy relevant. However, he’s well on his way to proving me wrong. Likely has nine targets in two games, which is nothing to scoff at. However, keep in mind that his snap counts decreased from Week 1 to Week 2 — 45% to 36%, respectively.

Quarterbacks

Ryan Tannehill (QB – TEN): 16.3% rostered

Tannehill’s rapport with his revamped receiving corps inspires confidence. Rookies Kyle Phillips and Treylon Burks look promising, and veteran Robert Woods is always a steady option. Tannehill and the Titans host the Raiders in week three. The over/under is already set at 47, so you can definitely put this one on the shootout watch list.

Marcus Mariota (QB – ATL): 9% rostered

Mariota put up a stout performance against the defending champs on Sunday. If you need a quarterback (maybe you had Trey Lance?), you could do worse than Mariota’s rushing baseline. Drake London has proven to be a reliable target, and Kyle Pitts is there if Mariota and Arthur Smith ever figure that out.

Defense/Special Teams

Chicago Bears: 1.8% rostered

The Bears host the Texans next weekend in a game projected by Las Vegas to see fewer than 40 total points. The Bears are also already early favorites. If you’re streaming defenses, you could do a lot worse.

Atlanta Falcons: 0.4% rostered

We’re scraping the bottom of the barrel here, but the Falcons play the Seahawks in Week 3. You likely won’t need to use a top waiver claim on them, so keep it in the back of your mind if you’re hurting for defense. They’ve proven they can generate turnovers, and I’m expecting this team to come out angry after two heartbreaking losses in a row.

Kickers

Randy Bullock (K – TEN): 1.4% rostered

If you stream kickers as I do, you’re always hunting for high-scoring games. Bullock is in a great situation here at home in what’s projected to be a close and high-scoring game against the Raiders.

Mason Crosby (K – GB): 6% rostered

On Monday night, the Packers are at home and heavy favorites against the Bears. In a prime-time game, I’ll trust the leg of the veteran.
