TOP PLAY
Giannis Antetokounmpo (F – MIL) | $11,300 DK/$11,700 FD
The Hawks/Bucks game is the premier one for fantasy on this slate, as it features a 6.5-point spread and an O/U approaching 250 points. Both teams are top five in pace and top five in team offensive efficiency. Giannis Antetokounmpo averaged over two FPPM the last time these two teams squared off. In addition, the Hawks have allowed the second-most FPPG to opposing frontcourts. The floor and ceiling are almost unmatched here, and Antetokounmpo is $1,400 less than Nikola Jokic.
CASH PICKS
Nikola Vucevic (C – CHI) | $8,500 DK/$8,000 FD
Zach LaVine will be out for about a week, and DeMar DeRozan is in danger of missing his second-straight game with a sprained ankle. Nikola Vucevic saw almost an 8% usage increase last game with those two on the shelf. He gets a strong matchup against the Pelicans, who have allowed the eighth-most FPPG to opposing centers. “Vuc” should be able to build on the momentum from his last ceiling game.
Shaedon Sharpe (G – POR) |$7,300 DK/$7,000 FD
Roster shooting guards against Utah. Rinse. Repeat. Today, it’s Shaedon Sharpe’s time to shine in that role. He’s hoisted up 49 shots over the last three games while averaging 37 MPG. There will be inefficiencies in the young guard’s games occasionally, but that kind of volume in the nuts matchup for SGs is almost impossible to ignore. Utah ranks 25th in overall defensive efficiency, making a lot of Portland players appealing today.
VALUE PLAYS
Jaden Hardy (G – DAL) | $4,400 DK/$4,900 FD
If Irving does play tonight, there is risk in playing Jaden Hardy, as his 21 minutes last night were a season-high. However, he profiles as the best per-minute producer on the Mavericks, averaging about a fantasy point per minute this season. If Irving sits, the sky is the limit for Hardy, as I think we’ll see him approach minutes in the upper 20s (and potentially even start in his place). Keep an eye on the Dallas situation and also rostership trends.
Josh Green (G – DAL) | $4,200 DK/$5,000 FD
With Dallas potentially very thin again tonight, they’ll be the team we target for value plays. Josh Green has played 30 and 31 minutes the last two games, and his 25 DK points at a $3,900 price tag last night were more than fine for cash games. OKC is strong defensively as a team, but they’re also sixth in pace, which will invite extra possessions.
