Jahmyr Gibbs hoping to improve route running, particularly from slot
Lions RB coach Scottie Montgomery says they’re hoping to see growth in Jahmyr Gibbs‘ route running, particularly from the slot.
Fantasy Impact
Despite not seeing his role grow till the second half of the season, Gibbs caught 52 passes on 71 targets out of the backfield last year. It is possible we see more plays with both Gibbs and David Montgomery on the field, especially if Gibbs lines up in the slot more.

Marvin Mims Jr. showing growth in camp
Broncos coach Sean Payton said “You’re going to see a lot of growth from year 1 to year 2” in regards to WR Marvin Mims.

Mims reportedly showed out at practice on Thursday. He caught just 22 passes for 377 yards and one touchdown as a rookie last season. With the trade of Jerry Jeudy, Mims is in position to have a chance to step into a bigger role this season.

Cowboys coach said QB Trey Lance has shown significant progress this offseason.

“Now starting to get the timing with the routes,” McCarthy said. “…He’s close to being a master of the system. He has a really high understanding. …He just needs as many reps as he can.” It appears he could work his way into the backup role behind Dak Prescott as of now.

Jameson Williams is expected to take on a bigger role on the Lions offense this season.

Twentyman reported that Williams is expected to take on a “much bigger role” on the Lions offense this season. Williams caught a touchdown from Jared Goff deep down the right sideline during a 7-on-7 period during practice. It is still possible Williams remains fairly big play dependent from a fantasy perspective, especially if Sam LaPorta remains in his role and Jahmyr Gibbs also potentially takes on a bigger role as a receiver.
